Travel woes
Sep. 13th, 2006 12:12 amActually, it was a very nice vacation with much fun and few woes, but talking about the good stuff would just make everyone feel jealous, right? Whereas talking about woes brings us all closer together. Or something.
Anyway, on Friday I was in a hotel. I checked ahead of time that they had cable, but unfortunately it turned out the package didn't include Sci-Fi. Grrr! But no problem, because on Saturday I could download it from the iTunes store, right? Wrong! The store hasn't kept up with the last few episodes (I didn't know, not having checked because of, you got it, travel). So I had to wait to get back home and watch my husband's tape on Monday night.
Then the last leg of my flight was overbooked and I got bumped to Tuesday instead, which wasn't really a terrible hardship (hey, nice hotel)q except for waaah, no SGA for another day! No watching the wonderful McKay and Mrs. Miller which I had already spoiled myself about! No figuring out how a tag or missing scene for that episode could be made to fit into the dark, messed-up world of my story series.
So instead I came up with a name for the series (Skew Lines (lines which are not parallel but never intersect (at least not in Euclidean geometry))) and dug out the half-written tag for Irresistible that I had started before seeing Progeny, abandoned, considered fitting into the series, abandoned again. Now that can be the series prequel. Well . . . as soon as I finish it, anyway.
At last I am home and have seen the episode (twice, not counting multiple rewinds for certain key points) and my brain is percolating how it can fit, but it will still take me a little while to write. After I finish the prequel story. But at least it seems the crunch-time coming up at work has been pushed back a few days and I can probably do my stories before that happens.
