So, it looks like my NaNoWriMo "novel" is actually turning out to be a series of stories, probably four or five of them -- and it will take at least three to get up to 50K words. I'm just about finished with the first one, rambling as it is. Not only editing but most of my writerly judgment has gone out the window in favor of letting it all hang out. And let's face it, I'm not really going to go back and re-write everything, although I might trim a few of the most useless scenes and paragraphs.

Anyway, multiple stories means multiple titles, and I'm kinda struggling here. As a sequel (series of sequels) to Cross Product, and furthermore a cross-universe crossover, I wanted every story to have "Cross" in the title. So everyone could identify them easily, right? But I'm running out of pertinent "Cross" sayings that might have even a vague relationship to what happens in the stories (made worse by the fact that kinda not much does happen in these stories, at least by my usual plot-heavy standards). So far I have the following possibilities:

cross multiplication
cross pollination
cross training
cross purposes
cross stitch
cross talk
cross examination
crossed signals
cross hatch
cross walk
cross listing

What else? I refuse to use "cross dressing," and "cross over" would just be redundant. Anybody have more suggestions? If I turn it into a title I'll . . . um, I guess I'll thank you. But, you know, in an effusive kind of way. That's gotta be worth something, right?
