Oh yes, very sensible.

The citrus problem is in three eps -- Rising, Underground and Pegaus Project. The hypoglycemia is in Hidne & Seek plus 38 Minutes, although you could argue last night's off to get some food in the middle of things was a nod to it.

But note that Pegasus Project isn't actually an SGA episode. Just as Rodney gets to be comic relief and token-totally-wrong-scientist when he guest stars on SG-1, he's also more whiny and cowardly and apparently fragile (although David Hewlett does manage to make it all believable as the same sarcastic hero we love in the other show).

So that leaves us with all the mentions of his problems in SGA canon occurring in very early episodes. Perhaps his health has improved, or at least his health management (just like Daniel's allergies and eyesight got markedly better over the first few seasons of SG-1). Or, if he was really exaggerating his problems earlier, he's stopped exaggerating because a) no one believes him anymore or b) a couple years in Atlantis have taught him what REAL threats to his life feel like. After all, how long did he go without food in No Man's Land, and he only complained about it when they'd been wandering around the ship for "almost a day" (which we know was less than 14 hours, but still...)

This isn't to say I haven't enjoyed each and every story using the extremes of all his health conditions. I just think the show prefers to hint at a reality where he's exaggerating versus always on the point of disaster.

Oh, absolutely. Not on the point of disaster is probably closer to the line they're trying to establish in canon, but fic writers and readers will continue to enjoy thoughts of poor woobie Rodney in hypoglycemic coma, anaphylactic shock, and a host of other appalling conditions.
