Having re-watched the ep a couple of times, I have the feeling that Carter told Mitchell beforehand that she was creeped out by Rodney coming onto her or something, because it seemed like he was really (unnecessarily) protective of her. And how did Rodney end up sitting next to Mitchell at the briefing, while John got to sit with BOTH the pretty women? Typical.
